CENTER FOR CREATIVE WORKFORCE EQUITY

nurturing next gen storytellers

Growing up low-income, you know opportunities like this are rare. I feel so blessed not only to have been accepted (into the program), but to have had the privilege to be paid to learn. This program is filled with future directors, producers, software developers. You all inspire me and you motivate me. Anywhere I get from here is because you gave me the space to blossom and grow.
— Neida, Digital Storytelling Pre-Apprentice

Our Center for Creative Workforce Equity builds programs and partnerships that contribute to a more equitable and inclusive creative sector. Programs are designed for talented, low-income young people, ages 18-24 who require job development support. Priority is given to those who have been foster, unhoused, or criminal justice system involved, are BIPOC, and/or are LGBTQIA+. All programs are completely free-of-charge.

Young people are paid to learn at Venice Arts. Our Digital Storytelling and Editing Pre-Apprenticeship programs provide full tuition scholarships plus a financial stipend to help participants fully commit to their learning. Graduates are mentored throughout the program, work with our Recruiter, and receive priority for paid internships, on-the-job-training, apprenticeships, and jobs. Check-out student and apprentice work, here!

Our Creative Conversations series—open to all—is a virtual series that offers young people the opportunity to be in conversation with creative sector professionals and to build the networks so important to success.
