Kelly Rodriguez
"I am drawn to capturing raw feelings in people and the overall beauty of life."

In the past four years that she has studied at Venice Arts, Kelly has developed a passion for Street Photography. Despite being a self-identified "shy person," her work achieves intimate and emotionally rich portraits of Los Angeles, capturing scenes of homeless shelters, her own neighborhood in South LA, and Hollywood Boulevard. According to Kelly, her approach is intuitive: "I try to read the vibe of the people and the place. I love taking portraits whether in the street or in someone's home... In the street it's more open, you can play unconstrained with subjects, colors, and nature."
Recently, with the support of Venice Arts' Lead Photographer, Issa Sharp, Kelly submitted two portfolios of her work—Street Photography and Environmental Portraits—to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Portfolio Scholarships.
