Venice Arts Awarded COVID-19 Relief Grant from J. Paul Getty Trust and California Community Foundation

Venice Arts is one of 80 arts organizations receiving a first-round COVID-19 Relief Grant from J. Paul Getty Trust and California Community Foundation!

We are grateful to their commitment to assuring that small and midsize arts organizations, such as Venice Arts, can weather the unprecedented economic challenges of COVID-19, and for understanding the central role that we play in our communities. With this grant, Venice Arts has been preparing to re-open—including rehiring teaching artists and making changes to our facility and practices to conform with public health guidelines. First on the docket: an in-person and remote Media Arts Camp for young people during the month of July.

Joan Weinstein, director of the Getty Foundation, which initiated the $10 million LA Arts COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund says, "The arts are a source of expression, resistance, and healing... our creative artists and arts organizations, who do so much to advocate for social change, will not survive this pandemic and its economic fallout if we don’t take action now to support them." We couldn't agree more.
