LEARN MORE ABOUT SELENA:

Selena Vargas enrolled at Venice Arts when she was 15 years old. At 16, she was one of the young photographers selected to travel to Durban, South Africa to document the Durban–area and the United Nation’s World Conference Against Racism (2001). This was her first time outside of Los Angeles. Selena took this photo, “AIDS Orphans” during a visit to a Durban–area organization that paired “grandparents” with children who had lost both parents to AIDS. As this photo attests, she is an extremely talented photographer. Selena continued at Venice Arts after returning from South Africa and remains in regular touch with her Venice Arts’ mentors. She is now the mother of a beautiful girl and shoots when she is able to find the time.
