LEARN MORE ABOUT EVELYN:

Evelyn began taking classes at Venice Arts in 2006 and quickly found her passion for photography. As a student, Evelyn participated in Advanced Studies and was placed in an internship at Anonymous Content through Venice Arts’ program placing highly skilled teens in creative production and post-production businesses. Now 20, Evelyn continues to be involved with the Venice Arts community.

Reflecting on her experience discovering her passion for photography through Venice Arts, Evelyn writes, “It all started 7 years ago. I was drawn into film photography and I explored it for the first two years; I learned about the camera, how photography is a form of art, and how it is told through the eyes. In my last 5 years it became a passion. Photography is a whole different world and I feel that when I’m doing it, I’m in my inner world and everything else is put aside. I personally feel that my photographs are telling not just a story, but a feeling that an audience can somehow relate to; my photographs are somewhat dramatic and that is why I usually choose to photograph children; they bring a certain peace to the mind, and a feeling to the heart. Another subject I tend to focus on is my family; they’re a big part of my life and their presence in these photograph shows how beautiful they are inside and out.”
