LEARN MORE ABOUT CECILIA:
Cecilia Isaac was a 13-year-old participant in The House is Small but the Welcome is Big in Maputo, Mozambique. Since losing both of her parents to AIDS as a young child, she has lived with her grandmother and older brother, Serge, who runs a small business, providing the family with some income. Contributions from the NGO Reencontro also help make ends meet.
Cecilia loves school. She walks 30 minutes each way to school every day and hopes to be a director of a school when she grows up. Many of her concerns are with her family and home because the roof of the house leaks when it rains and she worries about her grandmother’s health, as she has problems with her legs.
